Heading to a hotel now for some well deserved sleep. Stay tuned though for the results of this epic endeavour and some announcements from World Crush industries tomorrow and Tuesday. We're going to be rolling out some very cool things over the next few weeks.

To everyone who followed project Interceptor's progress, thank you so much! This is Christopher LaCon aka Nocal for World Crush industries signing off from California.
No luck in Union Square, thankfully our fearless embeded journalists Nick knows the area.
After stopping at Classic Cars West, we've headed over to China Town for a well deserved meal. Go figure everything would be closed at 3am on a Sunday.

Now we're going to try Union Square at the recommendation of a hotel clerk. Im looking forward to the first real meal we've had the chance to enjoy since brunch in Brooklyn on Saturday, 40 something hours ago.
We've done it! Just crossed the bay bridge, we're all to tired to do the math.
Just got into Cali, binoculars are key.
Just made our last fuel stop in Reno, NV. 222 miles to go.
Fast stop in Winnemuca, NV. So close!

Elko*
Nearing Elkor on a quarter tank. Back up to 76mph.
In Nevada now. 410 miles to Cali.
I dislike you Garmin! Way to take us of the highway.
Wow, salt lake city is HUGE.
Fuel stop ggogogo
9 hours 25 minutes to go. Only like 765 miles left. The fact that its so dark makes it an actual challenge.

The A-team and Cooking With Gas/Flirting with Disaster (the team in the Lincoln) are going to have a blast in the mountains.
Utah! Only like 800 miles left lol.
Just saw two accidents in half a mile. Its getting incredibly dark too. No urban lighting in any direction as far as the eye can see. I cannot wait to see the stars out here. (hey Dad, I finally got to see the pink fluffy clouds mentioned in that O.R.B. song)

Alex was able to finally seal up the rear window, its much quieter in the cabin. I'm wondering if that is a good thing though...
Crown Vics are pretty comfy when you're not handcuffed on a plastic seat in the back.
I can see the Rockys from here. The clouds here are impressive. Im looking at the most gorgeous orange, blue yellow purples and pinks. Alex is at the helm with 5/8ths of a tank.

I don't think we're far from Utah now. I can almost smell the Pacific from here.
In Wyoming watching the sun set on big sky country. I was able to bring the average up an mph but as we close in on Salt Lake City and the Rocky Mountains, im getting nervous. We're so close and yet so far. We've come all this way and I'll be darned if were going to lose to the A-team.
We've just entered Wyoming with a quarter tank so we're about to stop for fuel again, and its got to be fast to put distance on the A-team and the Lincoln team. It looks like ill be taking the evening stint today. Not far now from 24 hours in this beast, Dean is banking some serious time.
STILL in Nebraska. Dean's shown admirable consistency in recovering our lost time and repairing our average speed. We have yet to get the duct tape on this window to hold, its like having baseball cards in a bicycle tire.
Just left Maxwell, Nebraska. Its wicked flat out here. We replaced the alternator and battery as fast as humanly possible back in Lincoln, NE. Dean is back behind the wheel with Alex spotting.

The laser range finder is very nice AND it can set all of our laser detection gear off at once. We might be able to use that feature at some point, muahahahaha.
Another gas stop. Update soon.
And we still have an average of 70 mph.
New alternator andbattery, getting back on the road now.
The A team is only averaging 78mph. I think we can do this.
In the tow truck now, we can still do this I think.
Tow truck is inbound, going to take us back to Lincoln.
Alternator/battery seems cooked. Not good.
The battery light has come on near Lincoln, NE. Planning on picking up another one just in case, but it will negatively affect our time.

3 minutes 43 seconds for gas and bathroom breaks. I am very pleased with our eficiency so far, it'd be nice to pull more than 200 miles from a tank though.

Truthfully, its nice to keep switching drivers every few hours though, keeps things interesting, especially since we have no radio, the back left window is duct taped shut and we have to have the driver and spotter open the rear doors at every stop.

I'm going to seriously attempt sleep now.
Getting ready for yet another fuel stop. Dean will be taking over with Alex as spotter. Im going to pass out hard in the back, and it looks like Nick the reporter will be following suit.

I think this is as far west as I've been in a very long time. Its incredibly flat out here. About to exit, here we go again.
Just crossed into Illinois. Well lit highways are amazing things.
Just watched a firebird jump a shredded truck tire and almost.whack a guardrail. Scary, but everyone is fine (firechicken included).

I also want to appologize for the lack of pictures, after issues with the aircard, I turned to updating this via text. Im going to try and trouble shoot it but in this kind of 'test of endurance' its a bit of a challenge. Don't forget to stay tuned for an official world crush anouncement tomorrow!

Chris here again. Just finished my first stint. Got into indiana 20 or so ago. Ohio was pleasantly uneventful. Spotting for Alex now, on the lookout for an undercover silver mustang (thanks for the heads up Becky!)
Hi this is dean chris is driving he is doing 99 on the ohio turnpike. We r 511 miles into our 2900mile trip. The reporter is kind of concerned but havin a good time. Turnpike is 260 miles long. We are 125 miles in.
Ok luv ya bella and wyatt.
Second fuel stop. Out of contact for 3 or so hours!
Welcome to Ohio, home of Smokey the bear. Getting near the second fuel stop and my first stint.
Can't wait to take the helm. About to head into Bear Country, Ohio.

Fun fact: Ohio has some of the most extensively enforced traffic laws.
75 miles to Ohio or so.
So im going to attempt to nod off a bit before my first stint behind the wheel of this beast. Feel free to text me weather reports for the midwest.
We just executed our first fuel stop in under 2 minutes 15 seconds. Dean is at the helm now and Alex is spotting Ironically our first stop was across from "the Pit Stop restaurant" in Loganton, PA. Its a good temperature out, the road is clear, what a beautiful evening.
First deer sighting of the trip. Thanks to Dean's attentiveness we avoided a more personal meeting. Maybe these deer whistles were a good decision.
Just getting into PA. That makes 74 miles into our endeavour. Trying to bring up that average speed bit by bit.
On I80 west, having a blast watching people react to a decomissioned police interceptor barreling up behind them.
In the Holland tunnel with Alex at the helm. Now if only traffic would get out of our way.
And we're off! The 2904 begins!
With some help from the A-team the laser jammer is claiming to be operational. Were loading up on some food, then its off to the Red Ball garage (where the infamous, original cannonball runs left from) to get our time stamp and start this rediculous road trip.
We just had an original cannonballer declare this tournament of endurance open! We're going to try to get the laser jammer back up and running and head west.
Wrapping up breakfast, preparing to get the secret documents and head west.
Sitting down for breakfast and the drivers meeting. Hoping to get out of here by noon.
Under the brooklyn bridge! Photos should be coming online soon!
As I'm riding backwards on this bus, I couldn't help but be reminded of World Crush. I have no idea where World Crush is going in the future, but I damn sure know where we've been.

I have to thank everyone whose put their their time and effort into getting us this far. Mad props to my friends and family, especially my amazing girlfriend Nellie, as well as Aaron and Erik D for being stubborn and honest enough to keep me on track.
Oh god, the sun is way too bright this morning. Great weather for driving coast to coast though. So having just awoken from a very short slumber, im headed to the brooklyn bridge to meet up with the rest of the project Interceptor crew.
Signing off for the evening. Sweet dreams everybody!

I have arrived in NYC and not a moment too soon.
So despite a most valiant effort, we pulled into the train station as the train left. Project Interceptor has been delayed by a flat tire. Despite these set backs, we should all arrive at the Bar on A in NYC around 745pm.
And it begins. Aaron and I are headed to Brewster via Salisbury and Lowell MA to pick up a few things for the rally! Keep checking out this here blog for more!

Its not a race, its a rally.

So for those of you who don't know, there's a niche group of motorists that exist to cover large amounts of distance in short amounts of time. In less than 24 hours I have to be in NYC for the pre-rally festivites. 24 hours after that, I'll be joining the ranks of these motorists as I barrel through both space and time to reach San Francisco.

When people think of this sort of event is a bunch of rich people racing expensive whips from hotel to hotel over the course of a week. Things like the Gumball 3000, Players Run, and any number of other rallies, have typified these sorts of things. So what sort of hyper-exotic will I be piloting to Cali? Hah, not so fast.

I'll back up a bit. On the 26th of October, and as a result of being perceived as crazy enough to attempt something like this, I received an invitation from a long time acquaintance of mine and marketing director for RedSquare llc, Alex Macfarlane, to co-drive in the 2904, a “Transcontinental Motorized Vehicular Tournament of Efficiency and Endurance”. This “tournament” isn't just a quick jaunt across the country. There's always a catch.

The Challenge:
It is 2904 miles from New York to San Francisco. Drive that distance as fast as you can for less than $2904 including the car.

The Budget:
What counts in the $2904:
- The vehicle’s purchase price
- Any non-safety modifications made to said vehicle, including parts and labor.
- Fuel, Oil, Antifreeze
- Speeding tickets
- Food (yes, that includes Little Debbie snack cakes and Moxie soda )
- Tolls “
(from www.the2904.com)

With that said, there wont be any Ferraris or Porsches here. After a few days of planning, careful scheduling (I am, after all, still a full-time college student), I accepted the invitation and not long after Alex had sent me a picture of a white 1999 Crown Victoria with the P71 Police Package. Dubiously named project INTERCEPTOR. Over the last week, the car has been outfitted with a few goodies, a CB radio, binoculars for locating rivals, a nice power inverter so I can bring you all along for the ride, virtually at least.

Whats that? You heard me right. I'll be updating this here blog as we head west bound and down. But wait, there's more! World Crush will be making two big announcements along the way! So stay tuned and see what sort of hijinks we find ourselves getting into.

As I post this, project INTERCEPTOR is en route to NYC with Alex and Dean (of www.IronHorseTaming.com) at the helm. GPS puts there arrival time at 1030am tomorrow (Friday). Wish us luck!

Cars, Cigars, and Champagne, the definition of trifecta.

On the evening of October 22nd, World Crush had the pleasure of attending Cars, Cigars and Celebreties courtesy of Bellman Jewelers in Portsmouth, NH. As part of their re-opening celebration, the talented individuals at Bellman Jewelers put on a fine event with some of our favorite things: fast cars, champagne, hand rolled cigars and a great conversation. We were graced with the presence of a vintage GTO and Corvette, a 500 horsepower Porsche 993 Turbo, a brand new Mercedes SL550 and Porsche Panamera 4S (which I hadn’t seen in person before) as well as a Ferrari F360 Spider and a Bentley Continental GT-C. It was nice to speak with so many accomplished motor sport enthusiasts.

World Crush would like to thank Bellman Jewelers in Portsmouth for a great time, most notably Leah Grace who was kind enough to invite us out. Thank you also to the restaurant that catered the event as well as the Two-Guys Smoke Shop who was there rolling fine cigars. Yeah I spell my name with a "k"... you wanna fight about it?

For most normal people, work doesn’t involve hanging out of a car at speed to capture that perfect shot. Fortunately for us, we here at World Crush industries don’t consider ourselves “normal people” – we are enthusiasts: we do what we love and we love what we do.

At the 2009 Fall Kancamagus Cruise, fast cars on pristine mountain roads accompanied by gorgeous views and lateral G’s made for one hell of a day. With somewhere around 170 cars in attendance, it was my job to try to capture the antics of the day in pictures. This was a great opportunity to experience the New England motorsport scene, while photographing some really nice vehicles and experiencing some of the most exciting roads I’ve seen in a while.

My only regret was that I was not able to be behind the wheel, navigating through the twists and turns of the White Mountains. While this disappointed me, Mark definitely delivered the excitement and a good dose of speed with his precision driving. For the amount of spirited driving I may have missed out on, I was well compensated with the amount and quality of photos I was able to get.

Click below for the full gallery of my coverage throughout the day and I hope you enjoy! Please make sure you are using Firefox, Chrome, or Safari as a browser, as our gallery software does not like Bill Gates or his Internet Explorer. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Two a's means i'm extra special, and not in a good way...

So I think I found the best way to wake yourself up in the morning: get a skilled driver to take you out on the highway at ridiculous speeds and hang out the window. This works much better when it's already cold out and the effective wind chill is brain-numbing. But hey, if my commute to work every day was in a convoy of 150 some odd finely tuned cars, I'd have to begin to wonder if I was dreaming.

The Fall Kanc Cruise '09 was a tremendous experience and gave me a chance to get the whole community vibe, something I'll likely never want to give up. The only problem with having so many great looking cars in one area is that I never know where to start taking pictures and I can never get all the shots I want. Seems like a pretty good problem to have.

The cruise was more than a great time and my apologies go out to my driver, Mark, for my continual violation of his number one rule, seat belts always on. I am a bit disappointed as I didn't get a chance to break my own record in the Civic by getting sideways with all four wheels off the ground, but there should be plenty more opportunities for that.

Check out my gallery by clicking the picture below. And don't forget, if you want any high res copies of any of the photos from any of our photographers just e-mail me at aaron@worldcrushindustries.com , just remember to note which photographer, the number of the jpg (this appears below the thumbnails in the gallery), and the resolution which you would like them in.

My name is Ryan, I like rotaries...

This weekend, I had the pleasure of attending one of the best local cruises in the area, the NEMotorsport.com's Kancamagus Cruise. I have waited a good couple months, as have my friends, to participate in this gathering of and cruising with automotive enthusiasts and their plethora of vehicles from all over the New England area.

From exit 2 off of 101, our World Crush industries entourage and a couple friends took off around 9am to meet up with everyone else at NHTI in Concord. While late on departure, we were quick on arrival making up much lost time on some of New Hampshire's finest local highways.

After taking in the sights at the Reservoir, snapping photos and having lunch, my co-pilot and I were ready to roll out and start hunting down some twisty roads along Route 302 to Bear Notch. Unfortunately, shortly after our initial group of about 10 leaving Moore Dam, we pulled over and were informed that a member of the cruise was involved in an accident, at that time I was told it was the silver Honda S2000. An unfortunate accident, but I write this with the knowledge that both the driver and passenger of the silver S2000 are okay, having been released from the hospital with minimal injuries.

Running through 302 I was entangled in a dance of apex transitions and long sweeping bends as I chased down a Mustang GT. Nothing gets me more excited for driving than a spirited cruise with a formidable opponent, making this by far, my favorite part of this cruise.

To some, Conway is the tourist capital of New Hampshire, to others like me it is an obstacle in the way of one of the more anticipated roads for everyone on this cruise, the famous Hurricane Mountain Rd. Going miles out of our way from the Kancamagus has been a theme for the past couple years of this event. It is one of the most technical, winding, low speed roads you will ever come across in the region. Nothing is quite like this unique road. A two way road, with the occasional local traffic. You find yourself shredding away bits and pieces of tires as the road just keeps gobbling everything you give it, only to be assaulted with another set of extremely banked corners, and nice cresting hills. Catching air is not uncommon, nor is accepting the fact that this is as close to riding a roller coaster in a car as you can get. It is a true test of a vehicle's handling and braking abilities, and only the most clever drivers can find a way out in good speed.

The final meeting spot at the Loon Mountain parking lot serves as both a uniting point and a departing point. Much of the days excellent driving stories are passed around the local clicks of car enthusiasts. With such a great comradery between the enthusiasts, one can not help but be overwhelmed with the sense of pride that comes with finishing a cruise like this. It is inspiring to see people of all types and interests gathered in one spot for one reason: to drive.

Just another weekend at World Crush

So on Sunday we attended the infamous NEMotorSport.com Kancamagus run, and I think the pictures we're going to be rolling out this week will demonstrate it was one hell of a day. We left Dover at 8 and met up with Ryan and friends in Auburn. After stickering a few cars, we rolled up to NHTI in Concord at a 'reasonable' speed.

Its always nice to see a parking lot full of enthusiasts with one thing on their minds: the awesome route through some of the craziest roads I've come across in NH. From NHTI we headed farther north than I've ever been in NH. At the Moore Station rest area, NEMotorSport.com put on a raffle for the Make-a-Wish Foundation with the help of sponsors Ballistic Motorsports (www.ballisticmotorsports.com) and Motostar Wheels (www.motostarwheels.com), NEMotorsport.com was able to raise over $900! Mad props to them!

From Moore Station, we headed south east to run Bear Notch Rd. and Hurricane Mountain Rd. There's nothing like running crazy mountain roads with well prepared cars like a 500+ horsepower Supra and a nasty S14 240sx. With my front bumper still sore from the Hurricane, we came to a dirt parking lot between a corn field and a river in the middle of nowhere. Despite a slight navigational snafu, everyone made it without issue, less a techno violet e36 M3 whose rear strut decided to push through the bushing and bust into the trunk.

My favorite part of the day came just after leaving the dirt parking lot in the middle of no where. Deciding to bypass the return trip on the Hurricane, we headed for the Kanc. With people pulling over to check directions again, I chose to follow the silver Skyline GTR having seen pictures of it on previous Kanc runs and figuring he probably knew where to go. What ensued was one of my most enjoyable “Togue” experiences. Needless to say I found a bit of irony attacking a windy road in NH, in a Ford Mustang with a GTR for a guide.

After making fantastic time, we arrived at the Loon Mountain ski area. As we began regrouping, the sun set provided the perfect backdrop to the final stop. I have to give serious Kudos to Alex (OVRBST) and Shelby (83beast) for organizing it and for everyone that came out despite the worries of precipitation.

And then of course, on the way home it started snowing. I can't wait to show you all what we here at World Crush are capable of. Keep checking back, and you have my personal promise that ill content is going to be up here on the regular.

When we throw down, we wind up with sick parties

My name is Mark, I’m the latest contributor here at World Crush Industries and the president of the Electronic Dance Music Association of the University of New Hampshire. I throw parties, big ones.

This weekend EDMA held the Fairchild Throwdown. Usually we come up with more creative names and themes, but we had to get this event rolling ASAP. The party was held in a university residence hall at UNH called Fairchild (hence the name) in the basement lounge. This was a small event with a capacity of only 70 people. Despite the small capacity of the room, 158 people showed up throughout the course of the night. This party featured 4 djs: Keith Mattar, Robot Ears, PSY_FX, and Dex.

Electropulse did a great job of decorating the room with UV reactive 3D art. Four thousand watts of sound kept the foundation shaking all night while everyone was getting down on the floor. Then there was the wicked World Crush industries after party, but that’s a story for another time. Click the image below for a full gallery of the night courtesy of Erik.

Fall is in the air

Fall is in the air and the first frost has come upon us. This can only mean one thing.... winter sports are right around the corner and World Crush will be there. If you've got any sick winter sport events coming up we'd love to hear about them. Just drop a line to Aaron or Chris and see if it sparks our interest. But for now enjoy the cool air, scenic mountain roads, and improved horsepower numbers. We'll see you on the slopes.

Midnight in NE

A few nights ago the World Crush team attended NEMotorSport.com's Midnight Run through some of the most technical roads I've seen in the Seacoast region. Everyone had a great time, with the exception of a little motion sickness and one case of a Civic's rear wheels leaving the earth (the only time he's ever wanted a big wing I'm sure). I personally had a blast getting loose in a rally sandwich between the blue Evo X and the red WRX. Click the picture below to take a peek at the full photo gallery from the evening (courtesy of Erik and Aaron aka duble aa). And when you're done there, check out http://www.nemotorsport.com/'s forums.

World Crush would also like to extend a special thanks to Seth (Bayside Blue on NEMS) for putting this rally on, and for all those who attended!

Going the Distance

Trying to pilot a car at speed down a crowded highway with your knees, that's simply what it takes to get that one shot you're looking for, and is the mark of a truly devoted photographer. As NoCal and I were headed home to Dover via 495 and 95 it took just that to make some great shots happen. Granted I did get a few displeased looks but none harsh enough to keep me from getting the shots I wanted. Anyway, here's what I have to bring to the table from that trip.

In with the new

Tonight, the sun set on corporate decision makers and their habit of putting money before their customers. Tomorrow, the sun rises to greet enthusiast-based Media’s new outlet: World Crush industries.

We’re tired of the lack of concentrated coverage of grass-roots level motorsports and extreme sports. We’re tired of the people who have the talent and heart getting passed over for someone with their foot already in the door. We’re here for you, the enthusiast, the person who gets up before the sun to head to the track and the mountain. We’re going to be bringing you fresh content from the places you frequent. Races, shows, competitions, wherever. From drag racing to the half pipe, from drifting to big air; stay tuned, big things are coming
